From Pentecost Sunday, 28 May, all parishioners are invited to participate in a seven week course, working through stories from the Book of Acts, as we explore the 5 Marks of Mission of the Anglican Communion, through the ABM Bible Study book: “Where do we go from here?”
We’ll have sessions after the Wednesday 10am service and Thursday evenings at 7pm, from 31 May. The study book can be found online at https://www.abmission.org/resources/where-do-we-go-from-here/ Some printed books are available from Fr John for those without internet.
The season of Lent has a very clear direction. It leads us to the cross, and in the great Festival of Easter, takes us through death into the joy of the Resurrection. So, let’s look at the early church and once again celebrate the passion, enthusiasm, miracles, unity and determination that are so evident in the Book of Acts. Surely the answers are there? Perhaps. Or, more likely, in re-reading Acts, we will discover questions and clues about how we might enter into the great adventure of ‘mission’ in our own time and place. In Australia. Today.
